KWENA MOLAPO HIGH SCHOOL

Kwena Molapo High school is situated in the Lanseria area on the corner of Cedar Road and Malibongwe Drive.

This is a government High School (Grade 8 to 12) and it falls into the category of the Quintel 1. The school is basically made by temporary containers laid out in a orderly format with 16 class rooms, there is a small library which is built into ¾ container, donated by the Rotary Club Sandton / Round table.

Problem statement:

All the classes are containers turned into class rooms without any air conditioning or ceiling fans. The temperature can be very severe during both harsh winter or summer as the school is situated in the open veld adjacent to the road and most of the windows are also broken or cracked.

The school produces excellent matric passing results which has been on average 90% for the last five years. Despite the bare minimum available resources, the school is in a very neat and well maintained.

Presently water to the school is supplied by the borehole from the poultry farm across the road on a voluntarily bases, but unfortunately the supply of water is under threat as the poultry farm as gone through a phase of rapid growth and they need this provided water supply first to satisfy there business needs, so soon there will be no water for the school. The water storage tanks are also leaking and have been repeatedly repaired which eventually need to be replaced.

ALEXANDRA ENTREPRENEURSHIP ACADEMY 

This training program is being run partnership with Entrepreneurship Academy and River church foundation. To combat high rate of unemployment in South Africa. The boom in tourism industry made it urgently important to provide entry level skilled worker for hospitality & catering industry. The trainees are getting recruit straight after completion of course. You may sponsor a student or group of unemployed youth from township.

TEMBISA DAYCARE & PRE-SCHOOL GROUP 

We are working in partenrship with Frans Motsobane who look after 17 ECD facilities in Thembisa and ivory park area. We are providing food and educational material to these ECD and we are always looking for in kind donation and funding.

ALEXANDRA HAMPER DISTRIBUTION

This is our monthly food hampers distribution which is sponsored by Sunninghill Muslim community and SAPA. Currently we are distributing food hampers to 43 families on 17th Street Alexandra. You may donate a a hamper or as corporate sponsor a street.

HOPE IT LEARNING CENTRE DIEPSLOOT

We are in partnership with Rizha/Babuyile NPO and have set up a IT learning center for the unemployed youth of Dieplsoot. The centre provide Free of Charge basic IT foundation courses to advnace Microsoft software and ahrdware cources. For further information and getting involved please click onto the projects pages.

GRASSROOTS CRICKET ACADEMY

To Play, To engage, To inspire and to Change lives.

To use the power of cricket to train, inspire and mobilise young men to step up and fight social ills and stop the spread of HIV in townships

Cricket workshops that create a culture of hope, endurance and success in townships across South Africa.

•       To groom home-grown cricketers.

•       To nurture tomorrow’s leaders through the principles and disciplines of cricket, along with a multi-disciplinary leadership course and other interventions.

•       To use cricket to build social cohesion and attract township youths into becoming examples of change in society. We are looking for in kind donation or sponsorship with branding options.

JOZI BUSINESS HUB, DIEPSLOOT

It is partnership with Rizha/Babuyile to train and mentor entrepreneur of tomorrow in townships. We have set up first its kind a state of art facility in Diepsloot as a pilot. It is a training center and incubator for budding  entrepreneurs in Diepsloot. After successful completion of intensive week program candidates are provided with a working office to take their business concept to realization and turn into economical success. We have many good story to tell. You can get invole by sponsoring a next group of entrepreneur program.
